A key is small but mighty

An expression of the heart,

To open, it is needed,

And for getting things to start.

A key will rev an engine,

Or unlock several doors.

A key begins a clock

It’s been known to start up wars.

Keys encourage education

Into hundreds of libraries,

History, science, mathematics,

It turns knowledge into theory

A map is like a key

that guides you by the hand

leading you along the roads

across this gorgeous land.

Children’s toys are silly

when you wind the key in back

roll, wiggle, waggle, make them giggle

cars race or ducks that quack.

I’ve learned in these dark days

That keys can come in vials

And devils have placed my heart

In a Covid-19 Exile.
